The client: NSW Government contractor

The client’s challenge: The client identified that it required First Nations led Aboriginal Cultural Values Assessment works in the development of the Final Business Case for enhancements along the  rail corridor as part of the Faster Rail Program of Work. This project represented the first in a series of final business cases to support the staged development and delivery of faster rail in NSW.

GIRA’s response: GIRA’s methodology ensures incorporation of Aboriginal cultural values within the faster rail project and is underpinned by collaborative and consultative efforts. GIRA has well established  relationships with local Aboriginal communities and Traditional Owners, ensuring that their cultural aspirations are integrated across all facets of the engagement. The development of the stakeholder consultation and engagement plan is pivotal to achieving the Aboriginal Cultural Values Assessment and is aligned with the NSW Government Architects Designing with Country Strategy.
